We received a touching response from someone who just bought Co-opoly—and it was a great reminder of why we decided to have a sliding scale and how it does actually matter. TESA, the co-op that makes Co-opoly, uses a sliding scale for all of our products. We decided to do this for several reasons, two of the main ones being:
- We want to make sure our products and services are as accessible as possible to people and groups across socioeconomic lines. This means making our price ranges flexible (while still being able to pay ourselves).
- People should have some say in how much they value a resource and therefore how much they want to pay for it.
It’s great to hear that the sliding scale is helping people. Receiving feedback like this is what makes our work here so wonderful!
I’m really appreciative that Co-opoly is offered on a sliding scale. I’m a graduate student with extremely low income, but I’ve wanted to incorporate this game into the education class I teach ever since I learned about it. The sliding scale made it possible. Can’t wait to try it out!
