New Clients, New Products, and Great Reviews!

Rethinking Schools Rethinking Schools

We’re only into the second month of the year and things are already off to a great—and busy—start. First, we’re excited to welcome two new worker owners to TESA: David Morgan and Taliesin Nyala, who completed their apprenticeships in December and became full worker owners in January. (Educational tidbit: Want to know more about what it means to be a worker co-op? You can find out on Cultivate.Coop!)

Family Review Center Seal of Approval Family Review Center Seal of Approval

This past month, Rethinking Schools (left), one of our favorite publications, ran a fantastic review of Co-opoly, recommending our game “for social studies or math classes, afterschool programs, and/or to play at home.” We couldn’t be happier!

Co-opoly was also reviewed by the Family Review Center, who wrote, “Move over Monopoly, the big boys are in town and they are not sitting quietly!” They gave our game a glowing review, along with the Center’s Seal of Approval (shown at right).

We’re happy to announce that we’ll be working with several new partners in the coming year on a variety of projects involving education, democratic practices, and cooperatives. We’ll share more about these projects as they develop, but the first we want to talk about is a new Co-op Academy in Chicago that we’re working on with the Center for Workplace Democracy. Check out Andrew Stachiw’s article in IPS about it. This is the second article we’ve written for IPS’s blog—the first was a piece we wrote with Democracy at Work about alternatives to big box corporations—which we’ll be regularly contributing to throughout the year as well.

Valley Advocate's 2013 Best Of Poll

This week, we’re bringing back our popular December offer: Buy a game of Co-opoly and receive a Co-op: Made in the USA book and “10 Reasons Co-ops Rock” poster for free. We thought would be a great way to start 2013 off with some co-op pride. Purchase your game today!

Voting is now open for the Valley Advocate‘s 2013 Best Of Poll—so it’s your chance to vote for TESA as the Best Activist Organization!

Finally, we are thrilled to say that you can now purchase a Spanish-language version of our popular poster: “10 Razones cooperativas son estupendas“! This is the first product we have translated, thanks to the help of some great volunteers. We are currently working with translators around the world to offer more of our products in a variety of languages. Stay tuned for more details!
